My friend and fellow time travel enthusiast and author, Howard Loring, is very excited about the forthcoming 470th anniversary of the sinking of the Mary Rose on the 19th July.
Some time ago, or maybe sometime hence, he wrote a book of short stories entitled Tales of the Elastic Limit. The seventh epic fable of this volume, “Dinner with the Doge,” visits the real history of the sinking of the Mary Rose in 1545, including Henry VIII’s reaction as he witnessed the calamity. The dramatic narrative is couched within a larger historical context of the rise of worldwide commerce and the advent of science as an established discipline. I’ll say no more.
In honor of the occasion, Howard is giving away free copies of this short story. If you’d like one, just email him at firstname.lastname@example.org, stating preferred format. PDF is easiest for him.
Howard and I both own time-traveling buses. If you haven’t been on one of my coach tours yet, you can start with my first one which visited Stonehenge during it’s construction. Mister Loring has just posted a few short new tours. Take a look.
