Big parkrun Milestone

Lance’s 1000 km shirt

Since I posted this photo on my Facebook page yesterday, I have had such wonderful reaction that I thought it worth publishing in my blog. Please feel free to re-blog and share it in any other way you see fit through your own social media channels. I am very proud of my achievement. So proud, that I had my Andover parkrun shirt customised for the occasion.

My running friends agree that, in many ways, the 200 parkrun milestone is greater than those for which we are awarded t-shirts (50, 100, 250, 500). It represents ONE THOUSAND KILOMETRES in the park!

Andover New Year parkrun was my 200th. That is  1000 km in the park!

I celebrated by running my 201st parkrun with many of my Andover friends at Salisbury.

My next target is to run my 250th on my birthday on 16th December 2017.

I confess I love the idea of parkrun but sadly where I live the only one I could get to takes place on a Saturday morning while I am at work, at the minute it would still be more of a park waddle than a run but I hope by the time I can quit the day job and earn a living from writing I will be in better shape to take advantage of my free time.

    • You’ll get there. When you do, remember it is not a race against anyone but yourself. You start of slowly and gradually improve on your own results. I have seen some amazing outcomes.
In the meantime, I saw that you looked at “When Pleasure Blooms”. I hope that you’ll read it and give me feedback. It is only five short stories so you can pick it up and read one during a coffee break. I’ve had some great reviews (look on amazon) some quite pleasingly explicit. I’ve written a couple of novels too: “Eleven Miles” and “Knitting Can Walk!” The reason that i tell you this is because it is also my dream to give up the day job and write for a living. Take a look at the reviews and the “About” pages on my blog, and let me know what you think.
